Safe as houses
At a recent hands-on demonstration our alarm and lighting system was welcomed
by officers of the Fire Brigade. We’ve done everything that we can
to make our system as safe as possible.
- Each unit
has the ability to operate independently, so lights and alarms will
both come on even if fire destroys the connections between them.
- Any number
of lights can be connected to a single smoke alarm, and when the alarm
sounds, the lights come on immediately. Each light has a span of approximately
13m2 – sufficient to light a small room.
- The smoke
alarm has a guaranteed back-up battery life of eight years, with an
indicator light that shows when you need to replace it.
- A single smoke
alarm can support any number of lights.
- In larger
properties where more than one smoke alarm is necessary, these can be
connected, so that if one alarm sounds it also triggers the others –
giving you immediate warning even if you are asleep far away from the
start of the fire.
- The smoke
alarm’s lithium battery lasts for up to six months without mains
power, and the alarm will sound for up to two days, making this equipment
ideal for properties that are not permanently occupied, such as holiday
properties or rented properties with long gaps between tenants.
Extras
Red flashing beacon with siren sounder installed on front of eve of house to attract attention when smoke alarm is activated.
- Strobe lighting for impaired hearing installed in bed rooms.
- Radio frequency control units for upstairs/downstairs, granny units, 2 storey houses.
Optional extras - no wiring betweeen smoke alarms.
